  • Hepatitis B virus (HBV for short) is an infectious virus that attacks the liver. The virus is transmitted through blood and infected body fluids. This can occur through direct blood-to-blood contact, unprotected sex, use of unsterile needles, and from infected woman to her newborn during the delivery 
  • Most people with chronic hepatitis B can expect to live long, healthy lives. It is important, however, to know that you can pass the virus along to others, even if you not ill. This is why it is important that you make sure that your partner and all family members are vaccinated against hepatitis B.
  • HPV is found in highest concentrations in blood, the viral infection can be transmitted from an affective mother to the baby during childbirth.
